Three More Creative Uses for Your Pool Noodles

 Pool noodles are terrific items for pool-based play. These colorful foam pool toys are very lightweight, smooth and are safe to play with. Their use, however, does not simply end after you emerge from the swimming pool. The notable strength, flexibility, and bright colour on these wonderful devices makes them useful for many DIY projects anywhere in the home. Many of the properties that make them well-suited for use in the pool – their resistance to corrosive material, for instance –make them extremely versatile for use outside of the pool.

Your Pool Noodles Can Also Be Used as…

Hanger/Crease Protection

Keep your pants, scarves, or shawls crease-free the easiest way by covering the clothes hanger with one of your noodles. Cut the foam to the same length of the lower hanger rod, then slit across its length so that it would be easy to slip onto the hanger. This will make hanger creases on your clothing a much less common occurrence.

Cheap Ladder Guards

When it’s the time to clean out gutters and other far-reaching areas, you don’t want your metal ladder to be scratching at dry surfaces. Pool noodles will make good ladder protectors; simply cut two sections out of the foam, slit them with a knife, and stick them on the ladder steps. They provide great cushions for your legs and feet as well!   

Lift Gate Protection

If you have a van or a larger vehicle, then you might want a buffer to prevent hitting garage cross braces. You can use a foam noodle as cushion. Simply slit open one side of the noodle and slip it onto the brace; a tape or adhesive is helpful, but not needed for lasting protection.
